The Weekend
How was your weekend? What did you do? Are you rested and ready to return to the ‘rat-race’ come Monday morning?
Some folks use the weekend to play catch-up. Everything they couldn’t/didn’t get done during the past week gets taken care of on the weekend. Good luck with that one!
There’s laundry –
and cleaning
and yard work
and cooking
and chores
and school work.
Yup, there’s lots to get done on the weekend!
It’s nice when the family can get together and share an activity,
like washing the car…
But really, the weekend should be more than just catching up on all the chores. The weekend is also a time for having some fun.
Some folks like to go shopping on weekends –
Others like to get away from it all.
Some like to go out and paint the town red.
Others like to go on road trips,
and some would just as soon stay home, and
get some rest.
I use to be one of those with very busy weekends. I’ve rather outgrown that now. The need for hustle and bustle has diminished. There are very few deadlines to meet, or schedules to keep. I have decided that if I don’t want to do something right this minute, I don’t have to. It can always be done at some other time.
So, what did I do with my weekend? I did just what I wanted to do…
nothing!
